Ben Sherman presents his Autumn/Winter 2018 collection in a 100 meter underground gallery of the Sommerset House in London. The show was opened with soul rhythms of “I love you really” of the band The Tomangoes. A dozen Northern Soul aficionados dancing the show’s musical prelude to expand swing and twist – all dancers and models were choosen in front of the show of Henry Holland and Ben Sherman’s creative director, Mark Williams.

“Northern Soul is unknowingly associated with Ben Sherman and not even in the past, we have uncovered the aesthetics of the 1970s and chosen them with a contemporary approach,” says the creative director from southern Germany.

During the SHow, 29 outfits were shown: short-cut Harrington jackets as worn by Steve McQueen, quilted jogging pants, dovetail parkas, and racy mod-style suits. Of course, Henry Holland’s favorite motive is also missing, for example, a “night owl” shirt that symbolizes the Northern Soul. The hip owls are an allusion to the nights spent in the best clubs in the Twisted Wheel and Wigan Casino.

One month ago, Henry Holland received another honor: the British Fashion Council named himself the “Best Young Designer” category in menswear.
